Adaptogens + Chill: Supercharged Hot Cocoa Recipe
Tis' the season for good old hot cocoa, but with a Solara spin: mind calming, immune boosting and skin-nourishing, for good measure. We met up with our friend Stef over @but_make_it_healthy to get the inside scoop on her signature Supercharged Hot Cocoa recipe that's full of defense boosting, stress reducing adaptogens for a winter wind down.
We're always stoked for adaptogens because they help your cells adapt to their environment and protect against stressors. Like free radicals ... and the holidays.
Adaptogens, like ashwagandha, work on our skin in a similar way to how they work in our bodies, which is why we love them in our suncare (and our cocoa). These herbs and roots have been used for centuries in Chinese and Ayurvedic healing traditions and have been shown to help provide cellular protection, calm inflammation and reduce cellular level stress of the mind, body and skin.
A few of our founder's favs from her Lyme disease journey are: MoonJuice, Cymbiotika, Thorne, Gaia and Mushroom Science
So, cozy up with a mug of this Supercharged Adaptogen Hot Cocoa for a super chill winter season!
